The transformation of Historic Downtown Manassas to the thriving cultural and business hub it is today can be attributed to a number of key businesses, property owners, City programs, and community partners like Historic Manassas Inc.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit funded by the City and community partners, Historic Manassas Inc. (or HMI) is a Virginia’s Main Street™ organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown and supporting its business community.
This month, HMI announced the appointment of Laurel E. Howard as the organization’s new Executive Director. Laurel, a Manassas resident, joins HMI after earning two Master’s in film and several years as a film archivist, presenter, and events coordinator for the Library of Congress.
In her new role, Laurel will take on the pivotal position of engaging the Manassas community and Downtown stakeholders to promote, preserve, and enhance the vibrancy of Historic Downtown. Also joining Laurel and HMI this month is Herbert Zepeda – the organization’s new Communications and Promotions Coordinator.
