Bob and Edith’s Diner Comes to Manassas

January 31st was a packed opening for Bob and Edith’s Diner at 9221 Sudley! The seventh of its kind to open in the Northern Virginia/D.C. region, Bob and Edith’s is a family-owned and operated business serving up homemade breakfasts, shakes, burgers, and other comfort food ‘vibes’ since 1969.

When asked about how Manassas fits into the Diner’s growth goals and current business experiences, they confidently noted, “We’ve discovered that authenticity, dedication to quality food, and unwavering hard work form the cornerstone of a successful diner. As we set our sights on continued expansion, we envision Manassas playing a pivotal role in our growth.”

They mentioned the warm and welcoming spirit of the Manassas community has added to their optimism – “The genuine support and enthusiasm from locals have made our first weeks truly special.”

Wasting no time plugging into the community, Bob and Edith’s will be a sponsor of the Greater Manassas Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on March 9 and looks forward to partnering on “many additional” events to come. They have also found a valuable resource in the Prince William Chamber of Commerce and Prince William Times.

In owner Gregory Bolton’s own words about the newest location, “We look forward to bringing our delicious food and passion to Manassas! We’re excited about the journey ahead and look forward to becoming an integral part of this vibrant community.”

Currently, the Manassas Corner location is open 6AM to 10PM daily with plans to be 24/7. Keep an eye on their websiteFacebook, and Instagram for future developments.

Manassas Ballet Theatre Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Manassas Ballet Theatre, known as Manassas School of Dance during its original opening in 1983, invited many long-time supporters, dancers, and partners to celebrate 40 years in operation.

Manassas School of Dance landed the talented Amy Grant Wolfe in 1990. She would go on to teach, dance, and eventually become Associate Director in 1997. In 1999, Amy and husband Mark Wolfe officially took the reins, renaming the nonprofit “Manassas Ballet Theatre.” They haven’t looked back since.

Under Amy’s creative direction, Manassas Ballet Theatre’s annual budget has grown from $30,000 to $1.4 million, and is now formally recognized as the 78th largest ballet company in the nation. This growth has brought the City 25 professional dancers, 45 musicians, and at least four yearly productions totaling over 20 performances.

Annually, over 100 dancers audition to join Manassas Ballet Theatre. Some travel from as far away as China, Brazil, Japan, and the Near East to do so. More impressively, the Company is determined that ballet should be accessible to ALL dancers. They regularly offer scholarships and free workshops, as well as six performances at the Hylton Performing Arts Center each year for over 6,000 area public school students. This makes MBT the host of one of the largest educational outreach programs in all of Virginia.

To learn more about the variety of arts offerings through MBT’s theatre, orchestra, and ballet academy, visit their website at Manassasballet.org.

We’ll see you at the showing of Carmina Burana on March 8-10!
