Art Studio Opens in Downtown Manassas

Haven Arts, a private, minority-owned an art gallery is set to open in Historic Downtown Manassas. Located in the U.S. Post Office building at 9108 Church Street, the studio will feature a variety of pop and modern artwork, fashion, and other goods from local talents. Owner Paul Dallas says, “Haven Arts is a safe place for artists to create and express themselves through art, music, and other forms of creative expression. Community outreach, small business merchandise sales, arts-based programs for underserved locals, music, and creative events are some ways we look to engage our surrounding community while expanding upon the cultural and recreational opportunities available in the Manassas area.” Haven Arts will celebrate their opening on Saturday, September 3rd from 4-10 p.m.

In addition to Haven Arts joining the growing cultural and arts scene in Manassas, the City also recently broke on a major renovation and expansion of the Manassas Museum. The Museum project will add new galleries, event space, and outdoor areas that will further enhance Downtown’s attraction for visitors, residents, and event goers.

To discover and capture the best of our growing City, we’ve launched the “What Do You Love About Manassas?” Photo Contest for residents, businesses, and visitors to share their favorite Manassas imagery. Whether it’s an event in the Historic Downtown, a local park, or even your Manassas workplace – we want to see it! Submit your photos of Manassas by September 30th for a chance to win the $250 grand prize. Once the contest is complete, all photos will be available for the public to use (at no cost) on the City’s online picture catalogue at https://www.flickr.com/photos/cityofmanassas/albums.
