Premier Pools and Spas Manassas

On July 18th the City of Manassas and Prince William Chamber of Commerce welcomed the City’s first Premier Pools and Spas location at 10381 Central Park Drive, Suite 111, with a ribbon cutting.

This is the fifth Premier Pools & Spas franchise operation by owners Steve Mileski and Jacob Zervakis, who carefully selected the location based on customer demand. They’ve since noted the ease of licensing and quick support by City leadership that has instilled confidence in their growth potential in the region.

Premier Pools & Spas specializes in gunite pools (concrete), fiberglass pools, outdoor living/kitchens, and hardscape landscaping. The company is currently hiring! Check them out in person or on their website and Facebook page.

Annual Workforce Development Survey Results

The City’s 2024 Workforce Development Survey results are now available!

In response to City Council’s Strategic Action Plan, which identifies educational attainment and workforce development as top priorities, our office administers a survey annually to track talent recruitment and attainment. Each year, employers operating within the City are asked four short questions related to ability to attract talent both within and outside the City, and general awareness of key programs offered by SkillSource, NOVA Community College, and Virginia Values Veterans (V3).

Compared with 2022 results, participants ‘very satisfied’ with their ability to recruit talent within the City increased by 18% and outside of the City by 16%. Additionally, awareness of key programming by SkillSource and NOVA Community College increased 7%, and V3 programs by 9%. However, participation in SkillSource and NOVA Community College programs by survey responders dropped 3% since 2022, indicating an opportunity for better promotion and possibly improvement of workforce offerings.

Of those aware of V3 programming, 54% claim to be participants. This metric will be included in future surveys in order to expand our findings.
