Tilly & Teal Wedding and Events | Sarandipity Photography

Eight years ago long-time friends, Katie Baynard and Sara Hargrove, found an opportunity to combine their collective talents to make a mark on the event and photography industry.

In 2016, Katie launched Tilly & Teal Wedding and Events out of her former apartment above The Bone BBQ, mere steps from Katie and Sara’s new office at 9415 West Street in Historic Manassas. Around the same time, Sara was quickly growing her business, Sarandipity Photography.

The two hit the ground running, meticulously crafting their vendor list and managing every detail of the client experience. That grit and professionalism carried them through the Covid-19 pandemic years, which nearly decimated the events industry at the time.

Yesterday, surrounded by clients, loved ones, and City leadership, Katie and Sara celebrated the next big step in their businesses with a ribbon cutting at their beautifully decorated new space.

Katie and Sara said patience, support from Manassas businesses, and many dirty chai lattes from Ground Central Station have sustained them in these first months as a brick and mortar business.

Visit Tilly & Teal Wedding and Events and Sarandipity Photography for an event consultation or headshot session at 9415 West Street, Suite 201. View photos from their August 7th ribbon cutting here!

City of Manassas Partnering on New Innovation District

A new innovation district is building momentum for public launch. George Mason University SciTech Campus, City of Manassas, Prince William County, and several business leaders are partnering to bring industry, academia, and government together in a shared geographic area to generate economic growth, community connection, and attract and retain a diverse workforce. By sharing resources and expertise, the regional participants aim to accelerate the pace of discovery and bring products and services to market sooner.

The innovation district will address three priority goals: 1) strengthen the workforce through talent development and workforce attraction, 2) enhance the ecosystem by enabling the flow of ideas between innovation generators in academia, industry, government, health care, and serve as a place for focused incubation of emerging technology companies, and 3) support the generation, attraction, and retention of science and technology companies.
