Manassas, VA – September 12, 2024 – City of Manassas

From the always festive holiday flair in Historic Downtown to the electric atmosphere of First Fridays and 4th of July, City of Manassas continues to be a destination hot-spot for visitors near and far.

Recently, the City received $90,000 from Virginia Tourism Corporation as part of a statewide General Assembly appropriation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for tourism purposes. City leadership decided to use $20,000 of those funds to create and install the historic timeline at the Manassas Museum, and $20,000 for general tourism promotion on social media for dining, shopping, and attractions. The balance helped produce a tourism video, linked below.

The agency that produced the video will also excerpt five shorter clips for use in advertising. The video will be on our Visit Manassas website, promoted through social media, and can be run on a loop in the Visitor’s Center and in the Manassas Museum. Other potential uses will be on the screens in municipal buildings and on our Public, Educational, Government (PEG) TV Channel. The video will have subtitles in English and Spanish so it can be run without sound and be accessible for the hearing impaired.

Production for the video took more than a year, and the City will own all the footage for unrestricted use.

We encourage our regional partners interested in promoting Manassas tourism to share this video with your networks. Contact Patrick Small below with any questions or special requests.
