Two City of Manassas Businesses Recognized with VSBA Business Honor Roll
Local businesses have the power to shape community attitudes about public schools, and the Virginia School Board Association’s VSBA Business Honor Roll is a way for local school divisions throughout the Commonwealth to recognize local businesses for their support. The Business Honor Roll helps divisions say “thank you” to these businesses for their vital contributions.
Each year, the VSBA invites school divisions to pass a resolution recognizing up to three businesses for the Business Honor Roll. This year, two City of Manassas businesses and one Prince William County business were recognized for their ongoing support of Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS). They were:
Comfort Keepers of Greater Prince William: Recognized for participation in numerous events that support MCPS students, including the annual Hiring Day event, sponsoring scrubs for clinical experiences, the annual CTE Career & Conversation’s Day, the MCPS Job Fair, and various leadership and speaking events.
Sheehy Nissan of Manassas: Sheehy has been a regular host for student internships, which include High-Quality Work-based Learning, career pathways, and industry insights. In several instances, internships have led to the auto-dealer offering formal employment post-graduation. Sheehy representatives also serve on the MCPS Automotive Technology Program Advisory Committee.
All Assured Solutions (Prince William County): Recognized for partnering on critical Career & Technical Education (CTE) programming, including Job Fairs, Career and Conversation’s Day, and participating as a member on the mentoring advisory committee.
