Manassas, VA—August 14, 2024— Manassas Economic Development announced today that Purpose Lodging will invest $20 million in the City of Manassas to establish a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel, creating 50 new jobs and spurring annual direct economic impact from traveler spending.

The hotel will be constructed at The Landing at Cannon Branch located along Gateway Boulevard near the intersection of Route 28 and Godwin Drive. The City’s premier master-planned, mixed-use development, The Landing broke ground in 2018 with nearly 40 acres of residential and commercial uses, including 275 luxury residential units, 20,000 square feet of office space, and a 98-room Tru by Hilton hotel with year-round occupancy.

“The Home2 Suites by Hilton, with its extended-stay concept, perfectly complements the next door Tru by Hilton by offering a more versatile accommodation option,” said Purpose Lodging VP, Ryan Morgan. “While Tru provides a vibrant and efficient stay for short-term travelers, Home2 caters to guests needing longer-term stays with its spacious suites and fully equipped kitchens. This combination allows the two hotels to serve a broader range of guests, from business travelers and families to those relocating or on extended assignments, making it an ideal pairing in the hospitality market.”

Purpose Lodging is a proven owner and operator, previously constructing the regionally popular Hilton Garden Inn in Haymarket, Virginia. Home2 Suites will be developed as a 100+ room, all-suite extended stay property catering to business and leisure travelers. The hotel will include complimentary breakfast, an onsite convenience store, and community meeting space.

“Home2 Suites is an ideal addition to The Landing at Cannon Branch,” said Manassas Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger. “This new hotel adds to the City’s sense of place while also serving some of Virginia’s largest corporations and employers. The hotel will especially benefit our Manassas Regional Airport, the state’s busiest general aviation airport, as it expands to offer commercial services in 2025.”

“The hotel adds strategic growth and business development opportunities,” noted Manassas Economic Development Director Patrick Small. “The City’s major economic partners like Micron Technology, Lockheed Martin, UVA Health, George Mason University, BAE Systems, and Boeing will now have multiple nearby lodging options for business visits, talent recruitment, and seasonal employment.”
