CoAspire Joins Manassas’ Innovation Economy

Expansion Underscores the City’s Role in Defense and Advanced Manufacturing

Fox, Fox, Fox! Another high-wage, high-tech defense contractor Chooses Manassas! The City has long been home to mission critical defense industry and aerospace giants like BAE Systems, Leidos, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin (more recently General Dynamics) as well as smaller and mid-sized contractors like Hepburn & Sons. The newest entrant into our local economy is CoAspire, a Fairfax based prime and subcontractor established in 2013. The company is developing new missile products like the RAACM Cruise Missile as well as other products and services in the defense and aerospace market. CoAspire also provides professional service to the US Government and consulting, IT and government relations services to other companies.

CoAspire will set up its Manassas assembly, testing, and manufacturing facility in the 30,000sf former Georator facility. The company plans to hire more than 25 new employees and is expected to add new positions on LinkedIn in the weeks and months ahead as operations ramp up. Interested candidates are encouraged to check back regularly for updates. They have opportunities available in engineering, precision manufacturing, quality assurance, and production support – careers that blend cutting-edge design, hands on problem-solving, and real-world impact. These positions will further reinforce the City’s standing as having among the highest average weekly wages in Virginia for advanced manufacturing as well as professional and technical services.

CoAspire is the prime contractor for the Rapidly Adaptable Affordable Cruise Missile (RAACM). It is a funded program in support of the Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) program. CoAspire’s goal is to disrupt the cruise missile market and provide customers with an affordable and capable cruise missile at a fraction of the cost of other air-launched cruise missiles. RAACM is an additively manufactured (3D printed) cruise missile the same physical size of the 500 lb. class MK-82 or GBU-38 bomb. By designing it for additive manufacturing, it requires no tooling during assembly, greatly reducing touch labor and cost. CoAspire has subcontractors in 26 states and two European countries providing the components to make this cruise missile extremely affordable, exportable, modular and lethal.

With work that sits at the intersection of innovation, engineering excellence, and national priorities, CoAspire deepens Manassas’ advanced manufacturing and defense ecosystem while contributing to long-term regional growth and collaboration. We’re proud to welcome CoAspire to Manassas and look forward to seeing their team and technology continue to grow here.
