Training Ed Empowers Clients through Fitness Education

Dylan Smith and Ester Garrido met in 2013 when Dylan was teaching at the National Personal Training Institute and Ester was studying to become a personal trainer. As Ester transitioned into the fitness industry, Dylan mentored her, and their shared passion for fitness led to a lasting partnership, both professionally and personally.

Dylan and Ester recently teamed up to launch Training Ed, a private personal training facility at 9824 Liberia Avenue in Manassas dedicated to empowering individuals at all fitness levels. With a focus on education and expertise, the studio’s trainers bring 10-15 years of experience and multiple credentials. Training Ed offers personalized sessions without membership fees or contracts in an intimate, supportive environment. Equipped with top-tier gear like Rogue and Titan, the facility provides both in-person and virtual coaching, tailoring programs to each client’s unique goals for lasting results and confidence.

When we asked Dylan and Ester what advice they would offer to other business owners considering a launch in the City, they responded, “Network and connect with your local community. Manassas has a lot of small businesses that want to help each other grow. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, because there is plenty of it in Manassas.”

Residents Share Thoughts on Future of Marsteller Park

Nearly 80 people attended the November 12th Community Conversations event to provide valuable feedback on the development of the newly acquired Marsteller Park and Community Center. City staff, in collaboration with Rhodeside Harwell Incorporated (RHI), presented initial ideas and gathered input from attendees about the future use of the 20-acre property.

The City of Manassas purchased the former Marsteller School property at 8730 Sudley Road for $9.9 million from the Manassas Baptist Church. The site will become the City’s 21st public park, featuring a community center, athletic fields, open space, and a new Fire Station 1. This purchase addresses a longstanding need for more recreational facilities and provides an ideal location to improve public safety services. The community center and new athletic fields will serve residents of all ages with a focus on youth recreation leagues. The online survey remains open, and the City encourages further feedback to help shape the project before presenting plans to City Council.
