Business Beat: Lume Asian Fusion and Bark + Boarding Open Doors in City of Manassas

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Lume Asian Fusion

A much-anticipated eatery is now welcoming patrons at 9110 Center Street in Historic Manassas! Beautifully updated to create an intimate ambiance, Lume Asian Fusion occupies one half of the former Okra’s Cajun Creole location. Sharing a wall with neighboring Voodoo Brothers Cajun Creole, both establishments bring leadership and comradery dating back to Okra’s first opening in 1998.

Local entrepreneur Chris Sellers and partner James Shoemaker head up the restaurant, providing a new take on Korean Asian cuisine. On the website, Lume is described as, “Korean flavors meet the South Pacific, blended into American cuisine in a modern tiki setting. The perfect environment to relax, enjoy home-style recipes, and creative cocktails.”

Mark your calendars for Lume’s joint August 2, 4 PM Ribbon Cutting with Voodoo Brothers at the kickoff of First Friday!

Bark + Boarding

Bark + Boarding is the City’s newest business to offer doggie daycare, boarding, full-service dog grooming, and positive reinforcement dog training.

Operating in the 9,000 SF building belonging to the former Waggin’ Tails Junction, Manassas is now the business’ second location in the DMV region. Bark + Boarding established its first operation in Bailey’s Crossroads, Virginia in 1999.

When we asked Bark + Boarding what initially drew them to the Manassas market, Marketing Manager Amy Duff said the location, client base, and permitting process made the decision easy. She commented, “We had been looking around for the right spot to open our second location for quite some time. We were worried about the process at first, having tried to open several other locations over the years and facing uphill battles with permitting etc., but dealing with you all at Manassas City was SO quick and easy!”

Learn more about Bark + Boarding at their website and Facebook, and check out the facility in person during their July 30, 2 PM Ribbon Cutting at 10035 Dean Drive!
