Voodoo Brothers Cajun Creole Brings New Tastes and Old Favorites to Historic Downtown

No stranger to the City’s culinary scene, Luke Tamer and Antonio Escamilla are bringing a fresh new take on Cajun cuisine and some local staples to 9112 Center Street.

Tamer and Escamilla originally worked together at the popular Okra’s Cajun Creole, a nod to the name “Voodoo Brothers” with their newest endeavor.

Manassas residents and longtime fans of Okra’s have excitedly welcomed the recent announcement. Tamer explained that the restaurant aims to “bring back a taste of New Orleans, fond memories of Okra’s, and something that is also uniquely ours at the same time.” Tamer and Escamilla have hired a highly skilled chef with deep roots in New Orleans and Southern Cuisine, bringing some surprise twists to the familiar Cajun dishes. Tamer adds:

“We want to source as much as we can from Louisiana and locally to provide the highest quality and freshest ingredients. We will be keeping signature New Orleans dishes throughout every season, but will be changing out others with the season changes.”

Fans of First Fridays will be pleased to know Voodoo Brothers has plans to bring “Bourbon Street” to Center Street, adding crawfish boils and an outdoor bar to one of the most visited corners of Historic Downtown.

Please Take Our Community Perception Survey!

How do you feel about Manassas? In 2014, the City engaged a company named NorthStar to help develop a marketing plan for the City of Manassas. One of the outcomes of that work led to our new tagline and logo: Historic Heart, Modern Beat. The branding has been institutionalized and roughly every two years we test its resonance and efficacy against the marketplace.

In addition to testing the “brand” we benchmark the answers to three essential questions (which you’ll have to take the survey to learn and answer). It’s a very basic and simple survey that complements the rest of our community engagement work and provides data used to guide our marketing. The survey will run for about 30 days and be heavily promoted. Please follow the link to provide your input and share it with your friends and neighbors.
