Loveless Porter Architects, LLC recently cut the ribbon on their new office space in Historic Manassas. They used the opportunity to showcase the beauty of their renovated Center Street buildings, and to raise funds for a wonderful organization that helps children in our community.
The evening raised $821 for CASA Children’s Intervention Services, Inc.
“Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) meet with their assigned child at least monthly, which enables advocates to share with juvenile and domestic relations judges their recommendations that serve the best interest of the child,” said Pamela Moody, interim executive director for CASA.
Sean Porter, owner of Loveless Porter Architects, frequently gives his time to this cause, as he serves on the board of trustees. When he was challenged to use his business as a way to further CASA’s mission, he accepted that challenge and found a creative way to raise both funds and awareness.
“Sean serves on CASA Children’s Intervention Services’ board of trustees. Board chair Jason Hickman challenged board members to highlight CASA within their professional circles. Sean created an opportunity to showcase his newly designed building and share his passion to help abuse and neglected children in our area. His open house allowed CASA bartenders to have conversations with community members about CASA’s vision and values,” Moody said.
“The evening was a success! Sean’s guests and the CASA bartenders had a great time,” Moody said. “Community members asked questions about ways to support CASA. Our jurisdiction currently has more than 60 children in need of a Court Appointed Special Advocate. We welcome opportunities to share our mission with potential volunteers.”
This fundraiser helped celebrate the opening of Loveless Porter’s new location. They revived two historic landmarks in the City of Manassas — Austin House and Methodist-Episcopal Church, South. They chose Historic Manassas for their new space as they have put down roots in the local community, both in their customer base and their charitable work. They enjoy giving back through their involvement with CASA CIS, Semper K9 and Leadership Prince William.
