Young adults who reside or work in Prince William County have a new way to connect with others and build their skills.
The Prince William Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals of Northern Virginia (YPNOVA) hosted a kickoff event on Thursday.
More than 30 people attended the event, which was held at Sinistral Brewing Company in Manassas.
YPNOVA aims to help young professionals succeed through knowledge, experience and relationships, according to a release.
“We want to be both a resource to the business community as well as an outlet for young professionals,” YPNOVA Co-Chair Ben Hazekamp said in a release. “We want to offer relevant content to help fellow young professionals succeed and a community for them to thrive and grow.”
The group plans to help young professionals by offering monthly educational and social events that cater to professionals who are 45 years old and younger.
YPNOVA will host its next event on June 28 at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce’s office, where experts will discuss project and time management. A happy hour will follow the discussion.
Additional events that focus on various topics, such as business plan development and personal finance, will take place throughout the year. YPNOVA will also host social activities, including winery tours and laser tag.
