Several communities are working together to promote Northern Virginia.
The Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance (NOVA EDA) has been established.
Ten localities, including Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, make up the association.
Through the partnership, the jurisdictions seek to build a brand that brings additional business to the region, according to a release from the Prince William County Department of Economic Development (PWCDED).
NOVA EDA members will learn about available tools and strengthen the region’s brand by partnering with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP).
PWCDED Executive Director Christina Winn will represent the county.
“I am delighted for this monumental step forward and so glad that Prince William County will add its strength to propel Northern Virginia forward,” Winn said in a media statement.
Before the formation of the economic development alliance, communities collaborated on various projects.
When Amazon started accepting Request for Proposals for its new HQ2, four districts submitted a bid together.
The company’s decision to build the new headquarters in Northern Virginia encouraged the creation of NOVA EDA.
